You know all of those wouldn’t-it-be-great band names that you’ve come up with when you are in a slightly “altered” state? Here’s your chance to create that band. Well, sort of.

ABC No Rio has been the host for many a hardcore punk band in the past. But their makeshift creative space, carved out of a former tenement, is disappearing imminently to make room for a future ABC No Rio. To mark the occasion, as well as consider future shows in its next incarnation, they are hosting one last exhibit, “Infinite Futures.”

For this final outing, ABC No Rio put out a call for flyers advertising your future band’s performance. It could take place 5, 50 or 500 years from now. The bands don’t have to be imaginary, either. You could make a flyer for a reunion show or an anniversary gig for an existing group, too.

You could reimagine music in the future. Will we be able to create any sound by turning on a chip in our brain? Would we be able to keep the heads of our favorite musicians in jars on a shelf, the way that they do on “Futurama?” (Giving a whole new meaning to “Talking Heads” perhaps?) The sky – or the holographic mosh pit – is the limit.

You can send in your own flyers as old school black and white photocopies or send ABC No Rio a file. But hurry – submissions are due by this Monday, May 31.

Additional details are found on their Facebook page.
