The perennially maligned Time Warner Cable – soon to become Charter Communications, if you’ve seen those annoying commercials – is putting the finishing touches on its newest showroom. Its first in the downtown environs.

Headquartered at 700 Broadway (corner of East 4th), the 5,700 square-foot location is one of their “experience stores.” Much of the space is earmarked to show off the TV, Internet, and phone products in its stable. Customers will have an opportunity test drive the company’s products and mobile applications, as well as purchase hardware, such as cable boxes and modems.

Time Warner Cable signed the lease back in March; the location previously played home to the upscale Aldo shoes. Maybe instead of opening new retail, though, the communications provider should focus on its terrible service and customer support.
