Yesterday evening, President Obama experienced first-hand the dreaded East Houston Reconstruction Project (already more than three years behind schedule). The line of vehicles traversed some of the worst sections of pavement between Orchard and Chrystie Streets. The entire roadway was closed off, and barricades installed curbside, for his motorcade, which snaked its way uptown at around 6:30pm for a date with Jimmy Fallon at the Tonight Show taping.

Hundreds of passersby lined both sides of East Houston to nab a glimpse of POTUS. It seemed as though every cop in the Manhattan South Command was involved in the little road trip. Plus, helicopters above that seemed to wanna land atop the Public Hotel.

And once the flagged cars passed, that was that.
