With Arrival of Top Hops this Week, You Can Now Buy Beer at the Essex Street Market

Popular Orchard Street beer dispensary, Top Hops Beer Shop, is on the verge of opening its long-in-the-works “to-go” concept inside the Essex Street Market. Meaning, the seventy-six-year-old commercial warehouse is no longer a dry establishment.
Top Hops signed a lease last fall for the space formerly occupied by Essex Flowers in the southeast corner of the facility. Shortly thereafter, refrigeration equipment and beer taps were installed and have been sitting idle inside the gated stall. Until now; finally some movement. The branded Top Hops signage arrived several days ago for the big push. We’re told that official launch is slated for later this week.
As previously reported, the takeaway craft beer spot is to sling roughly fifty varieties of brew in bottles and cans, taps for growlers, and snacks alongside the beer.
The choice of Top Hops To-Go for this vacated stall is apt. There is currently no option to purchase beer within the confines of the Essex Market (aside from its occasional sponsored events). This would definitely fill a void, and possibly increase foot traffic to an institution that has struggled the last couple years.
