Bowery Graffiti Wall Undergoes Major Overhaul; Logan Hicks to Restart Mural Next Week

The Bowery graffiti wall was not only stripped of its artwork, but now, of its skin altogether. The perennial two-story canvas is undergoing a major overhaul at the moment. Workers peeled away the layers yesterday and are reconstructing the wall. As of this morning, there is a shiny new exterior in place.
The rehab work is in response to the recent removal of Logan Hicks’ exceptional “Story of My Life” stencil mural. You’ll recall that driving downpours and excessive heat during the last week of July, not to mention the purported lack of wall prep, resulted in the removal of Logan Hicks’ mural.
Word on the street is that the renowned stencil artist will return to the wall, for the second time, on August 15.
