Yesterday we reported that cocktail lounge, Ghost on Eldridge, disappeared from it namesake street. It had a four-year run before the auctioneer came and sold all furnishings. Yet the space is already accounted for.
Ghost was operated by the Woodward Gallery directly across the street, and now we learn that they’re not yet done with the space. Expansion. Co-owner Kristine Woodward confirmed that 132 Eldridge will soon be renovated and converted into an annex of sorts for the long-running gallery.
“We are converting the location into more art space with some great exhibitions planned,” Woodword explained in an email. There is currently no timetable to its opening, though.
Established in 1994, the Woodward Gallery eventually moved from SoHo to the Lower East Side twelve years later.
