L’asso Pizza at Mott and Kenmare Reopens After Renovation Period

L’asso Pizza reopened its Little Italy pizzeria over the steamy weekend.
Ownership had previously closed the operation more than a week before to implement “renovations.” Our prior calls to the establishment went unanswered and the business seemed down. Not anymore. Whatever issues the parlor faced were apparently resolved during the extended hiatus. (Except for the online ordering.) L’asso returned to the fold on Saturday.
L’asso Pizza debuted at 192 Mott Street in 2007. Its colorful exterior remains an attraction in itself with colorful signage and a revolving selection of street art, most recently the mural of Keith Haring. The closure scare follows exactly three summers after the East Village location folded.
