Barely a month after the Sasha Wolf gallery faded from the Orchard Street gallery scene, another has taken up residence. The replacement opened its doors at the end of August, and is called simply, The Storefront Project.

The second installation here at 70 Orchard Street is by Lady Millard, whose cursive red tag, an homage to Princess Diana, is fairly ubiquitous in the area.

It certainly entered a crowded sphere within the whole street-art-inside movement. The Storefront Project sits beside Shin Gallery’sproject space” (66 Orchard Project) and catty-corner to the Avant Garde gallery, both of which exhibit much the same work.

Saigon Social is inching toward launch on Orchard Street. Branded vestibule arrived a couple weeks ago, while the dining room appears ready to go with tables and token mural. Yesterday was International Holocaust Remembrance Day, also marking the 75th anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz death camp.
