Pols Protested Bigoted O’Reilly Factor Segment Outside Fox News HQ Yesterday

Fox News pissed off a lot of people this past Tuesday when the O’Reilly Factor ran a segment about the Chinese vote. Bill O’Reilly sent his ass-clown reporter, Jesse Watters (i.e. Watters’ World), to Chinatown for what became a wildly bigoted piece that mocked local Chinese.
Watter subsequently apologized for his reporting in a series of tweets, but many feel that didn’t go far enough.
My man-on-the-street interviews are meant to be taken as tongue-in-cheek and I regret if anyone found offense.

Yesterday afternoon, a team of community leaders and local politicians demonstrated outside the Fox News HQ on 6th Avenue. Congresswoman Nydia Velazquez, Assemblyman Ron Kim, Councilwoman Margaret Chin, democratic Assembly nominee Ruh-line Niou, Comptroller Scott Stringer, Congressmember Grace Meng, Public Advocate Leticia James and members of the Black, Latino, and Asian Caucus were joined by their colleagues and community members in condemning the segment. They demanded an apology, retraction of the segment, and holding those who produced it responsible.
