Miss Paradis opened in Little Italy over the holiday weekend, finally serving its brand of health food after four years of planning and construction. It’s apparently in soft launch mode.

Claude Louzon and his daughter, Julie — alongside eccentric architect Philippe Starck – designed this New York City spinoff of the French health spot Le Paradis du Fruit. It was supposed to have opened back in July. Then pushed back to October, and again to just now.

You’ll recall that this corner parcel was a locals parking lot until 2012. Before cocktails were considered, the spot had been earmarked for a Shake Shack. Neighbors quickly put the kibosh on that idea, though. Miss Paradis worked to make it happen ever since.
