The Commissary
The Metrograph Theater’s Commissary is quickly expanding its operations. The eatery, “inspired by the studio backlot eateries from Hollywood’s golden age,” debuted this past May, and now offers a weekday breakfast and lunch menu, from 9am-4pm.
The restaurant has also recently introduced The Writer’s Menu, “a collection of small plates designed so you can eat with one hand… while writing with the other.” Though the drink names are nods to some of the greats, this menu doesn’t seem geared towards the struggling writer. A mere ‘Apples and Almond Butter’ plate will run you $10. But they are “farmer’s market apples,” so there’s that.
As previously noted, restaurateur Henry Rich oversees the restaurant, Argentinian chef Norberto Piattoni consulted on the menu, and Dennis Spina is the chef.
