The first ever location of Tory Burch is now dormant.

It was at 257 Elizabeth Street that the eponymous designer opened her first-ever boutique in 2004. Aided by a juicy plug from Oprah Winfrey a year later, business took off big time. Now, the fashion line just ditched that history. Several readers alerted us to the closure of this location, leaving dark a prime piece of Little Italy for some newcomer.

The downtown outpost was last in the news in the fall of 2015 when its “athleisure” product line – Tory Sport – reinvented the shop. “It was a bit tired after 11 years, I gutted the whole thing,” Burch quipped to Business of Fashion at the time.

Less than a year later, it’s curtains.
