Lower East Side Employment Network Hosting ‘Job Training Expo’ Tomorrow
Dust off those resumes. This week, the Lower East Side Employment Network (LESEN) is hosting a Job Training Expo. The workshop aims to directly connect job seekers with both training and employment opportunities in the hospitality/food and bev industries. Thus outlining a career path for prospective candidates. It’s a smart venture on LESEN’s part, as there sure as shit isn’t a shortage of restaurants around here.
LESEN is “an innovative collaboration of experienced workforce development agencies that works in partnership with Manhattan’s Community Board 3 to efficiently meet business hiring demand and support job candidates.” Partner agencies include Chinatown Manpower Project, GOLES, CPC, Grand Street Settlement, Henry Street Settlement, and the like.
The training expo is being held at NYCHA Rutgers Houses Community Center (200 Madison Street), Thursday, February 23 from 6-8 p.m. More info can be found here.
