Partial Balcony Collapse in Seward Park Co-op Rains Concrete on Pathway Below
There was a bit of a scare at the Seward Park Co-ops on Wednesday afternoon. Apparently, a partial balcony collapse on the seventeenth floor of 212 East Broadway resulted in concrete tumbling to the pathway below. We’re told that there were no injuries and no one was displaced.
One Seward Park resident named Ira sent along the following dispatch:
The concrete landed on a pathway and grassy field near a children’s playroom. [Yesterday] braces were erected, and netting was placed around the damaged areas. The building’s management, as of this time, has not issued any communication regarding the situation. However, building staff, grounds keepers speaking off the record have communicated with residents that there were no injuries and no residents have been displaced.
