Whole Foods Bowery Replaces its Beer Room with ‘Coffee Bar’
As part of its overarching effort to liven it up and rebrand, the ten-year-old Whole Foods Bowery just closed their enormous beer room. The store ended operations yesterday, but won’t stay empty long.
The food emporium is about to impart an “exciting new coffee bar” in the space.
Whole Foods is certainly going through all sorts of changes of late. You’ll recall that their new, highfalutin bakery debuted at the entrance a couple weeks ago; other changes include a remodeled prepared foods section.
All this as news arrives that Whole Foods, nicknamed “Whole Paycheck” in recent years, aims to lower its grocery prices by centralizing its distribution structure and acting like a big-box grocer. But it’ll come at the expense of placating the foodie hordes.
