14-Year-Old Arrested in Connection to LES Synagogue Fire
In a quick turn of events, one of three teenagers was arrested yesterday in connection to the tragic fire that hollowed out the historic Beth Hamedrash Hagadol synagogue on Norfolk Street.
The 14-year-old boy, whose name was not released, was apparently arrested and taken into custody last night during the monthly 7th Precinct community council. He was whisked to a room on the second floor for questioning, just hours after the NYPD deemed the fire an arson.
According to the New York Post, “Cops busted him after speaking to one or more of his friends who were present at the time the fire was set, and implicated him as the person who started the blaze.”
Police are still looking for the other two suspects.
