‘Sushi on Jones’ and ‘Bar Uchu’ Officially Part Ways with Chef Bouhadana

The “Ungloved One,” Chef David Bouhadana, is no longer part of the equation at both Sushi on Jones and Bar Uchu on Eldridge Street. There was some sort of falling out with business owner Derek Feldman, who was quick to correct that the two recently “dissolved” their relationship. Bouhadana is erased from these projects.

“We have decided to mutually part ways with Chef Bouhadana from our various projects – Sushi on Jones and its plans for expansion, Uchu, and Bar Uchu,” Feldman told us in a statement.

As for Uchu (and Bar Uchu) at 217 Eldridge Street, launch is imminent, with arrival likely in the next couple weeks. Construction on the exterior is nearing completion – they poured a new sidewalk on Monday – and the restaurant itself appears ready to go. Liquor license is also active.
