Operational on Essex Street for nigh on five months, Factory Tamal is already headed to greener pastures. The mom-and-pop snack shop, which had replaced Cabalito Pupuseria, is now in the process of relocating around the corner to 34 Ludlow Street (at Hester).

Restaurant workers confirmed that the move is due to a need for more space. The new spot will be ready on August 10.

The new digs at 34 Ludlow was previously occupied by the Meow Parlour as its bakery arm. That ended three months ago when the company consolidated its holdings on Hester Street with sister shop Macaron Parlour.
