When an Essex Street Sidewalk Becomes a Runway for New York Fashion Week
At the outset of Fashion Week last Thursday evening, the Essex Street sidewalk just below Hester transformed into a runway of sorts. Not for random pedestrians showing off their latest threads, but for a new fashion brand.
According to Out, the “queer design house” Nausicca was forced into an audible when inclement whether ruined its Seward Park event. An impromptu decision was then made for the alternate location of Beverly’s just across the street. It created an interesting dynamic that had models leaving the tenement entrance at 21 Essex, strutting across the sidewalk (with game face on), and into the trendy bar. A horseshoe of gawkers encircled the area.
New York Fashion week ends tomorrow.
