Why You Might See Emma Stone in the Bowery Subway Station Today

Here’s why you might be late for work today. Emma Stone will probably be filming in the Bowery subway station of the JZ line.

Indeed, the actress returns to the Lower East Side to shoot scenes for the forthcoming Netflix series, Maniac, a dark-comedy that co-stars Jonah Hill. Requisite signs are posted to street furniture along Delancey Street from the Bowery to Forsyth. (The production crew was last spotted at the now-shuttered Cup & Saucer on Canal.)

The plot of Maniac (code-named “Ronald” to throw off paparazzi) follows a guy who lives a fantasy life in his dreams, but is actually locked up at an institution. It’s based on a 2015 Norwegian series. Both Hill and Stone will play patients who are institutionalized.
