Dump Truck Hits and Critically Injures Pedestrian on Ridge Street [Updated]
A registered nurse riding her bike on Ridge Street was struck and critically injured by a dump truck last night, according to several scanners and tipsters on the scene.
The 50-year-old woman was hit near the intersection of Ridge and Stanton Streets shortly after 10pm and was reportedly pinned beneath the vehicle for some time. An emergency detachment rushed the patient to Bellevue in critical condition.
Identity of the victim is not yet known. However, according to published reports, the driver of the ten-wheeler was charged with driving with a suspended license. Investigators claim she was riding the wrong way down Ridge.
The victim is now in stable, but serious condition.
