Gompers Houses, circa 2015

A resident at the Gompers Houses on Pitt Street was reportedly held up at gunpoint Friday night outside the door of his apartment, police said.

One perp shadowed the man to the doorstep of his fifth floor apartment, where he allegedly observed the victim take cash from his pocket. The suspect apparently proceeded to the sixth floor, linked up with two other accomplices, and returned shortly after to allegedly mug the resident. Two of the aggressors reportedly brandished firearms, and filched $120 and a cell phone, according to the police report.

Two arrests were subsequently made; one perp was 19 and the other was 14. The third, believed to be an African American male, is still at large, police confirmed.
