‘Shinka Ramen’ Debuts at the Wyndham Garden Hotel on the Bowery

At age five, the eyesore that is the Wyndham Garden Hotel on the Bowery keeps padding its stable of food and beverage. As of yesterday, the eighteen-story, 106-room hotel now boasts a ramen restaurant to its name.

Indeed, Shinka Ramen & Sake is the fifth onsite hangout for the Wyndham Garden Hotel, behind the Wu Room, Rooftop 93, lobby bar, and that sprawling seasonal beer garden with more than 100 television screens. The business has been in previews the last week, and just soft opened to the public yesterday. Ownership calls its presence here on the lower-third of the Bowery a “ramen evolution.”

By all signs, though, it looks to be another run-of-the-mill ramen joint. Despite the (fishy) glowing five-star reviews of Shinka on Yelp. But let us know what you think if you eat there…

Meanwhile, with sake on the menu and this being a new establishment, we don’t recall an appearance before Community Board 3.
