New Golden Arches Return to Delancey Street Ahead of McDonald’s Reboot
The Golden Arches are once again perched above Delancey Street. Check out the new look.
The notorious McDonald’s here at the corner of Essex Street has been under renovations since September, and is ready for a reincarnation. The main question – can it shed the seedy reputation garnered over the last twenty years?
When McDonald’s reopens here (likely January 15), it’ll occupy two levels, essentially doubling the overall floor area. But this reboot is also “digitally enhanced,” plugging in a half-dozen self-service order kiosks on the ground level.
McDonald’s first opened at the northwest corner of Essex and Delancey back in 1997. Since then, it’s earned a reputation as haven for violence and shenanigans.
