‘Cheese Grille’ Readies New Allen Street Pop-Up

It’s been a year since the vegan-friendly Pala Pizza shuttered on Allen Street. (City Marshal seized it on behalf of the landlord.) Now, the one-story commercial space at 198 Allen is about to receive another restaurant, albeit temporary. From just down the block.

We’re told that the four-year-old Cheese Grille has inked a short-term lease for a pop-up concept here. Workers wearing branded hats have been busy building out the space the last several days. It’ll reportedly open sometime next week.

Not much else is known at the moment.

The fast-casual Cheese Grille debuted at 188 Allen Street back in July 2014. They serve up gourmet sweet and savory grilled cheese sandwiches alongside craft beer options.
