Rumor: Hypebeast to Unveil Gallery and Store on Division Street

Hypebeast is reportedly coming to the Lower East Side.

The seven-story commercial loft building at 41-43 Division Street traded hands last year for $15.5 million. Continental Equities snapped up the Chinatown property from the Lam Group, which had owned it for the three years prior.

Now, after sitting on the investment for a year, the new ownership scored a tenant to plug the vacancy. Word on the street is that Hong Kong-based fashion and lifestyle publication, Hypebeast, is moving here in a big way. Meaning, they will reportedly take all 21,000 square-feet of space inside 41 Division Street.

A Boogie informant relays intel that Hypebeast will utilize the floor area not just for office space, but for a gallery, events space, and some sort of ground-level retail.

Hypebeast has maintained an online store for years, so, if the rumors prove true, this would reportedly be its first foray into permanent brick-and-mortar.
