Shinsen Brings Sushi to the ‘Neglected Souls of the Bowery’
Call it another halo effect. With the Hotel 50 Bowery hitting stride, a string of symbiotic restaurant businesses are springing up. Shinsen is the latest to join the party.
Sandwiched between the new Bake Culture coffee shop and Eddie Huang’s forthcoming Baohaus reboot, this narrow eatery offers sushi, sake, and matcha “for the neglected souls of the Bowery.” Shinsen debuted at 44 Bowery within the last couple weeks. (Former tenant was a mobile phone retailer.)
The proprietor of Shinsen, Tony Bo Chan, is a Chinatown local who also runs a fashion line called Bo Clothing.
