Bareburger Lower East Side Now Open on Orchard Street
The East Village branch of Bareburger completed its relocation to 173 Orchard Street this week, and is now open for business. The organic burger joint soft launched last night, but makes it official starting today.
Matt Kouskalis, who owns the four Bareburger locations in Manhattan, cited rising rents as impetus behind the move from Second Avenue, a space he had occupied for the last six years.
The establishment netted approval for beer-wine license earlier this year, but it’s still pending at the State Liquor Authority (paperwork filed last week).
Since its Astoria debut in 2009, Bareburger has amassed more than two dozen franchise locations scattered across the Tri-State area (and the country).
Bareburger LES took the torch from A Casa Fox, one of the only Nicaraguan restaurants in the city that closed last July after nine years on the block.
