Petee’s Pie Expands with New Clinton Hill Cafe
Petee’s Pie is no longer a Lower East Side exclusive. The beloved, butter-smelling pie shop – headquartered at 61 Delancey Street – just expanded with an enormous second location.
The new outpost opened earlier this week at 505 Myrtle Avenue in Clinton Hill, and is somewhat of a departure from the OG. Rather than another cramped bakery with limited seating, Petee’s Brooklyn is more of a sit-down cafe that includes both sweet and savory pies (menu below).
Petee’s namesake, Petra, opened the dessert spot with husband Robert Paredez in November 2014, having taken over from Rocket Joe’s Pizza at 61 Delancey Street.
Petra’s pedigree is pie. Her parents own and operate the acclaimed Mom’s Apple Pie Company in Leesburg, Virginia. According to the company website, she spent her youth in the bakery, “pulling all-nighters before Thanksgiving, learning the tricks of the trade (production from her pop, marketing from her mom), and piloting new recipes using produce grown on the family farm.” Before starting the business, Petee taught special-needs children in NYC public schools.
