‘The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’ Filming at the Slipper Room this Week

You’ve probably seen the plethora of no parking signs littered around Hell Square for the film shoot this week. Crews will be spending the next few days here capturing scenes for the second season of Amazon series, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.

Base of operations, we’re told, is the upstairs cabaret joint, Slipper Room.

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel is a comedy-drama period piece set in the late-1950s in which a Jewish New York City housewife realizes she has a knack for comedy. It stars Rachel Brosnahan, Michael Zegen, and Alex Borstein (from Family Guy).

Given that comedy is so prominent in the plot, it’s somewhat fitting that the Slipper Room play host. After all, this is the weekly stage for so many comedians – upstarts and well-established – during Seth Herzog’s Sweet.

T-Mobile is Closing its Delancey Street Store

Lots of retail turnover on Delancey Street this month. Earlier this week, we broke news of Rainbow’s imminent departure from the thoroughfare after more than a decade in the neighborhood. Today, it’s the loss of another corporate footprint. Though, one with arguably less utility. The eleven-year-old T-Mobile outpost, essentially an advertising expense for the wireless […]
