First Sight of Ace Hotel’s ‘Sister City’ on the Bowery, Opening Fall 2018

The new Ace Hotel on the Bowery just shed some of its construction netting, revealing the rooftop addition atop 225 Bowery. It’s currently a mess of white brick and glass embedding; there are also slender water towers visible.

As previously reported, the twelve-story hotel is part of a new sub-label called Sister City, which offers a “thoughtfully-designed retreat in New York’s bustling Lower East Side.” It’s apparently meant to resemble a “hostle” feel. The trendy Bowery inn will feature 200 rooms, with entry off Rivington Street at the end of Freeman Alley.

Moreover, Ace Hotel honcho Brad Wilson teamed up with Nicholas Morgenstern (of “Finest Ice Cream” and El Rey fame) for the food and beverage component, which includes rooftop lounge and the 2,356 square-foot Cafe Como eatery on the ground level.

The hotel is still on track for a fall 2018 debut.

Bowery Boogie was the first publication to break the story of Ace’s arrival back in 2013.
