L.E.S. Kitchen Served its Last Burgers on Essex Street
The scruffy, cheap-eats destination block of lower Essex Street is down one. L.E.S. Kitchen officially closed down on Friday night after two years headquartered between Hester and Canal.
Chinatown native Chris Wong launched the burger joint in May 2016 (preceded for a year by the Juicery), and appeared a hit with locals. It was a no-frills eatery with sparse counter seating and low-key vibes.
Nevertheless, the popularity apparently wasn’t enough to buoy business.
The space is now back on the market.
