Fancy Fragrance Shop ‘Aedes Perfumery’ Moves to Orchard Street
After spending twenty-three years in the West Village, a highfalutin fragrance shop just planted a flag on the Lower East Side.
Aedes Perfumery, founded in 1995, shut down its long-running shop on Greenwich Avenue at the end of June and moved crosstown to 16 Orchard Street. Their new boutique replaces the luxury leather shop, Billykirk, which closed a few months ago after four years.
With this change in scenery, Aedes is quick to call itself the “Lower East Side’s first perfume destination.” The store offers a curated selection of rare perfume, skin, and home products from around the world.
