‘Octfest’ Returns in a Couple Weeks with Plenty of Beer and Music

Posted on: August 17th, 2018 at 9:12 am by

It’s a tough pill to swallow when the festival season wraps up, and with it, the end of summer. But maybe it doesn’t have to end so soon?

What was initially a craft beer gathering with a few musical guests last year in Brooklyn has now morphed into a two-day music-meets-beer festival on Govorners Island, and with some fancy food to boot.

Returning in early September for a second go, Octfest is the marriage of Pitchfork-curated artists to October – the popular beer culture website. The musical lineup has expanded significantly, to include indie favorites like The Flaming Lips, Vince Staples, Yo La Tengo, and Hatchie, to name a few. Over 90+ craft breweries from around the country and world will be showcased (don’t hold your breath for Tree House Brewing or Trilium, at least not this year), and the food pairings will be handpicked by foodie mag Bon Appétit (think Mission Chinese Food, Roberta’s Pizza, Oddfellows Ice Cream Co.,Kronnerburger, etc).
It’s happening September 8 and 9. Tickets can be found here.
