Filming is currently underway on the second season of Spike Lee’s Netflix comedy-drama, She’s Gotta Have It. Today’s shoot is on the Lower East Side, and has commandeered The Box for the fictional “Hot N Trot Nightclub.”

(The Box is often used in television and film for nightclub scenes.)

This She’s Gotta Have It reboot stars DeWanda Wise in the lead role of Nola Darling, a Brooklyn artist who juggles romantic relationships with three different men. Cleo Anthony, Anthony Ramos, and Lyriq Bent co-star.

The show itself is based on the movie of same, which served as career launchpad for Lee upon its release in 1986.
