‘Cha Cha Matcha’ Preps New NoHo Locale

Cha Cha Matcha is expanding its Manhattan reach with a new NoHo locale, its third overall.

The Instagram-friendly cafe is poised to open at 327 Lafayette Street, the through-block space previously occupied by the Jacques Torres chocolate shop.

Store canopy is up. Expect an opening in the coming weeks.

Cha Cha Matcha – co-founded by Matthew Morton and Conrad Sandelman – debuted in July 2016 at 273 Broome Street, and quickly expanded with a midtown outpost. As the name suggests, the business specializes in Matcha tea (powdered green tea leaves). And they’re obviously targeting customers to share on Instagram (so-called “Millennial Pink” has been proven successful on the social network).

Of added note – the new tea spot is opening just around the corner from MoMaCha, which is now in some steep legal troubles.

Scaffolding Finally Deposed from the DL

It’s trading one eyesore for another. The longstanding scaffolding attached to the facade of The DL on Delancey Street is finally gone. Workers deposed the iron appendages earlier this week. You’ll recall that in July 2016,  a chunk of exterior dislodged from 95 Delancey and tumbled to the sidewalk below. The structural collapse resulted in […]
