‘Mrs. Maisel’ Stunt Revives Carnegie Deli on Lafayette Street for One Week
Carnegie Deli met its demise in December 2016 after eighty years in business on the Upper East Side. Thanks to a creative marketing stunt for The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel comedy series, the business is revived for one week only.
Though, nowhere near the original location.
From December 1 through December 8, the storefront at 201 Lafayette Street will transform into the Carnegie Deli. The nostalgia trip is bankrolled by Amazon, the platform on which The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel airs. A special menu item is also available for the pop-up – “The Maisel” sandwich for 99 cents, which includes pastrami, salami, and coleslaw on marble rye.
Season premiere is December 5.
