Fire Takes out ‘Sauce’ Restaurant on Rivington Street, No one Hurt
Early Saturday morning, a one-alarm fire swept through the lower part of 78 Rivington Street. It apparently started inside the kitchen of Sauce restaurant.
According to ownership, the fire was quickly extinguished and no one hurt. Published reports noted that the flames spread up to apartments 2B and 2D, but that affected tenants are okay.
The establishment is sidelined indefinitely, though, until repairs are conducted. Apparently the kitchen sustained minor damage.
This isn’t the first time Sauce had a fire on-premise. The popular local Italian restaurant suffered an electrical blaze in the basement this time two years ago.
