Anna Sheffield Moves to Bleecker Street in Search of Foot Traffic

The Anna Sheffield jewelry boutique spent five years on Orchard Street until its move from the Lower East Side last year. But the eponymous owner found refuge on Bleecker Street just off the Bowery.

The new space at 19 Bleecker Street is much larger, and joins the myriad trendy establishments that already dot the area. This could translate to increased shoppers.

At the time of our initial reporting – precisely one year ago – Sheffield stated that the business had outgrown its space. Which may have only been partially true. She explained to WWD this week what most Orchard Street retailers already know – foot traffic is oftentimes paltry and unsustainable.

“We didn’t have much foot traffic at the old space, at least not the type looking for fine jewelry,” she noted.
