The unofficial start to summer is here, and Hell Square is already heating up. A dollar pizza joint on Orchard Street was reportedly held up at knifepoint over the holiday weekend.

The assailant reportedly entered the seven-year-old 99 Cents Fresh Pizza shortly before 9:30pm on Sunday night. Police say that the masked intruder demanded money after producing a blade. The suspect then grabbed $150 from the register and fled the scene.

The knife-wielding suspect – described as a male standing 5-foot-11, and wearing a burgundy colored mask – was last seen heading southbound toward Delancey Street.

An earlier version of the story incorrectly stated that the perp took the cash register.
