Pho Grand Closes for Renovations
Venerable Vietnamese restaurant Pho Grand has been closed of late. Starving area locals of a cheap meal.
Bilingual signs affixed to the shuttered security gate of 277 Grand Street indicate renovations are afoot.
Ordinarily this might be cause for concern, as “renovation” is often a euphemism for a fly-by-night closure. And maybe so, were it not for the expansion plans on the horizon for the nineteen-year-old Lower East Side veteran.
Indeed, Pho owners Benny and Mick Chen will this fall embark on an expansion with the Pho Grand Counter at the forthcoming Market Line as well as a new location in Flushing.
Still, it’s unclear when (or if) Pho Grand reopens. Calls to the restaurant go unanswered, and no updates via branded websites.
