‘Douzo’ Sushi Opens on Delancey Street
Two years after the closure of Berkli Parc, the southwest corner of Allen and Delancey Streets is finally active again. The plywood shed was recently removed to reveal terra-cotta marquee and identity of the next tenant – Douzo.
For the new venture, Sushisamba veteran Koji Kagawa teamed up with Chatchai Huadwattana of the Chace Restaurant Group, which is behind several Asian restaurants across the boroughs.
The six-table corner establishment opened last week, and serves a small menu of soups and hand rolls (Temaki Sushi), paired with beer and sake.
Community Board 3 approved the wine-beer license back in March of this year, and it’s still pending with the State Liquor Authority.
