‘Otaku Katsu’ Debuts on Rivington Street
Otaku Katsu, a new Japanese tonkatsu concept, debuts today at 137 Rivington Street.
Chef Dimitri Voutsinas and his wife Christine Argao-Voutsinas took over the lease from the prior tenant, Tong Katsu.
The fifteen-seat restaurant is a fast-casual concept that offers a variety of katsu and Japanese sando bentos, in addition to fresh made onigiris. Customers can also order okonomiyaki fries (crinkle cut fries) topped with okonomiyaki sauce, kewpie mayo, pickled ginger, and grilled corn.
Otaku Katsu is open for lunch and dinner seven days a week, from 11am – 11pm, and plans to add late-night hours, Thursday – Saturday, when they will add Izakaya-style fare.
Will they break the trend of short-lived eateries at this address?
