The City’s First ‘Nut-Based Milk Bar’ Opening on Mulberry Street

Posted on: September 27th, 2019 at 5:08 am by

To show you how far gentrification has come, Mulberry Street will see the arrival of a plant-based milk bar. The newcomer, Tulo House, set up shop where The Tea Shoppe previously held court for the last decade, between Spring and Prince Streets.

Tulo House is high on itself for allegedly being the first nut-based milk bar in the city. It’ll also offer a cafe menu of “vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and paleo-friendly organic bites with a fashion kick.”

The neon sign inside, and the store branding, play off the double-entendre of “nut” as a verb.

Founded by Aussie-American, Laura Hopkins, Tulo House opens at 217 Mulberry next Tuesday (October 2).
