With Eviction Underway, Bassanova Ramen on Mott Street is No More
Popular Japanese import, Bassanova Ramen, is no more. The below-grade noodle shop at 76 Mott Street went out of business earlier this month.
Legal papers are taped to the door signaling the formal eviction process brought by the landlord.
Bassanova Ramen opened in Chinatown six years ago, and was highly regarded out of the gate. Foodie publications extolled its menu, especially their green curry ramen.
“These were the first guys to really do something different with their ramen,” Clinton Street ramen king Ivan Orkin told Serious Eats in 2013.
But the hype apparently couldn’t sustain the bottom line.
