Bengali Street Eats Opens in the Falafel Guys Spot on Rivington Street
The illuminated sign hanging above the raised grate is a misnomer. The Falafel Guys did not return, but its Rivington Street space is active anew.
A new entity called Bengali Street Eats picks up where the predecessor left off. The tiny storefront at 157 Rivington retained the same setup and many of the same menu items. Despite its name.
Bengali describes itself as “Street food from Bangladesh and the streets of the Mediterranean. We serve a variety of Samosas, fuska, curries, falafels, burgers, Shawarma tacos, and loads of veggie options.”
Da Falafel Guys, run by a trio of Lower East Side locals, shuttered at the end of July after a short two-year tenure.
