Caught Red-Handed: Spa Ordered Shut for Prostitution

Yet another Lower East Side “spa” is busted for prostitution.

Grand Healing at 297 Grand Street was ordered shut by the police department at the end of October. It precedes the sex-related closure of Good Luck Spa on Orchard Street, yet appears part of the same crackdown. (Just take a look at that calligraphy in the storefront notices!)

The summons taped to the front door outlines some of the alleged illicit activity caught by undercover cops. Basically, the masseuses here were caught red-handed giving happy endings for an additional $40 “tip.” At least three instances from June 2019 are outlined in the paperwork.

This isn’t the first sex-related closure at 297 Grand, either. Its predecessor, the Yu Yu Spa, also peddled in rub-and-tugs and met the same fate. Undercover cops busted them in August 2017.
