Hell Square High on ‘Hemped’

The former American Apparel footprint is now fully occupied. Subdivided and split between three different stores.

The latest, and third venue, to join the block (behind Dr Smood and Uni K Wax) is Hemped, the CBD dispensary which started on Bleecker Street a couple years ago. This satellite store opened on Orchard Street two weeks ago. And it looks more like a high-end cosmetics shop built for Instagram than a weed-adjacent business. And with reason – gotta appeal to those millennials.

Hemped NYC (as its stylized) peddles edibles, oils, lotions, and the like. Pitched as necessary for a “healthy lifestyle in New York City.”

It’s located just down the block from another weed-minded venture, Hemp Garden.

Emergency Rehab of Burned-out 70 Mulberry Street Resumes

Chinatown, and the city at large, is increasingly becoming a ghost town, devoid of pedestrians and traffic.
