Michael B. Jordan’s Favorite Lower East Side Bar Wants to Expand
Looks like the yearlong dormancy in the wake of By Robert James is finally reaching conclusion on Orchard Street. The reason sits next door.
Las’ Lap is gunning to take over the former boutique, which moved to the Canal Street Market after departing last January, to expand its overall footprint. Meaning, another previously unlicensed store on the block could flip to “wet” use.
Ownership will appear before Community Board 3 tonight for approval of its expansion plans.
The Caribbean joint opened in May 2018, and is the seventh business at 74 Orchard Street since 2008. The Las’ Lap establishment counts Black Panther actor Michael B. Jordan as an investor.
