Street Art Duo ASVP Completes 8-Story Mural at Essex Crossing
ASVP just put the final touches on arguably its most ambitious mural. The eight-story treatment on the backside of 145 Clinton Street.
The duo spent nearly six months painting the expansive artwork, which is dubbed “Figure No. 6.” This past Sunday saw some of the final brush strokes, so to speak. Despite the COVID-19 quarantine.
The piece daubs the western exposure of The Rollins at Essex Crossing, and measures 10,600 square-feet — 220 feet long and as high as 79 feet tall.
The new mural is two-and-a-half years in the making. Way back in September 2017, the developer consortium behind the mega-project, Delancey Street Associates, released a public call for muralists to decorate the facade. The two-man crew from Brooklyn, ASVP, comprised of Simon Grendene and Victor Anselmi, beat out 85 other submissions.
